Great day with Mohamad. The tour went super smooth, on time, hassle free and our guide was super nice and very knowledgeable of the history and facts. We had an amazing day! Could skip the souvenir shops though but it is part and some were interesting to see.

My tour guide was Mohamed Hamed with Mekawy as driver.
The trip exceeded expectations. Mohamed is very professional: he speaks perfect English and has in-depth knowledge in Egyptology. But what was even more important for me as a solo traveler, Mohamed was also a great companion. In addition to showing all the highlights and giving background knowledge we also had phylosophical discussions related to Egypt. Overall, instead of being another tourist who came to take pictures of the pyramids it was more like having a trip with a local friend and spending good time.
I am not sure about the other guides at this company but with Mohamed a great trip is guaranteed. Relax in air-conditioned comfort on the long journey, admiring views of the Gulf of Suez. Learn the story of how the temples were constructed and hear the stories behind their legends. Go to the Valley Temple opposite, attributed to the Pharaoh Khafre, and marvel at the feat of ancient engineering.

The Great Sphinx is one of Egypt's most visited monuments, and myriad tour companies conduct tourists through its temples. Giza, home to the Great Sphinx as well as the equally famous Great Pyramid, has melded into Cairo over time.
Any Cairo tourist is within easy bus or cab distance of Giza, and athletic travelers can even walk. With a good guide book and a day before you, it is entirely possible to organize a self-tour. Still, many visitors prefer organized tours that take them from Cairo to Giza, through the monuments and back again. Few tours visit only the Great Sphinx; most include the pyramids and other Giza monuments. Myriad tour companies offer to transport tourists to the Great Sphinx.
Many of these include not only the Great Sphinx and its two temples, but also the three pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. You are not allowed to really get close to the Sphinx or to touch it. It is protected by a gate around it and security will admonish you for going past the gate. You will generally use the same guide for the Sphinx that you do for the Pyramids. If you go very early in the morning or after lunch it will not be as crowded.
